United Kingdom Chemistry and Aerosols

I am the National Centre for Atmospheric Science support contact for the United Kingdom Chemistry and Aerosols (UKCA) project. I support the UKCA standard release jobs that are available on the HECToR and MONSooN supercomputers. I am also the webmaster of the UKCA website.

[UKCA Couplings to MetUM]

As well as providing support and advice on running UKCA, I also do code management and development. I developed the UKCA-ASAD 3D diagnostics suite that is current used at versions 7.3 and 8.2. I am also interested in the couplings from UKCA back to the Met Office Unified Model (MetUM). The image above shows a schematic of couplings from UKCA to the MetUM, where links in red are only available in some model configurations. I have also been involved with the UKCA simulations to be part of the SPARC assessment of the lifetime of halogen source gases.

For more information on how to get started with UKCA please see the UKCA wiki or contact me directly.
